
NIACC falls to Indian Hills in 1st-ever ICCAC women's dual
CENTERVILLE - The NIACC women's wrestling team dropped a 35-14 decision to Indian Hills Tuesday night in the Multi-Purpose Building on the Indian Hills Centerville campus.
Tuesday's dual was the first-ever Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) women's dual.
The two-time defending NJCAA national champion Warriors secured five pins in the victory to claim the first-ever conference win. The 2022-23 season marks the first-ever season for women's wrestling in the ICCAC.
NIACC picked up wins from Chiara Barbieri at 101 pounds, Tatiana Hernandez at 109 pounds and Laken Lienhard at 143 pounds.
Barbieri (2-1) gained a forfeit, Hernandez (4-0) picked up a 14-11 decision over Dutchess King and Lienhard (2-3) pinned Jazmyn Knutson in 1:01.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at the Luther College Open in Decorah.
