
NIACC women's soccer team faces Hesston College
HESSTON, Kan. - The NIACC women's soccer team returns to action Friday at Hesston College.
The match is slated to start at 6 p.m.
NIACC (1-0) opened its 2018 regular season with a 4-3 win over Southeastern CC on Aug. 25 in a non-league contest. Hesston College (0-1) dropped a 3-0 decision to Allen County CC on Aug. 29.
The Lady Trojans play at Hutchinson CC at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lady Trojans topped Southeastern with 28 seconds remaining as Jessica Altman scored the game-winner on an assist from keeper Rose Priestly.
Altman scored two goals for the Lady Trojans, one on an assist from Priestly and the other on an assist from Emma Eden. It was Altman's first career two goal game.
Altman's two-goal game was the first time a Lady Trojan scored at least two goals in a game since Lena Oliver recorded a hat trick on Oct. 17, 2017 against DCTC.
Eden scored on an assist also from Priestly and Michaela Elford scored on an assist from Rylie Smith.
Notes: NIACC coach Leo Driscoll has a career women's record of 5-9 ... Altman has five career goals ... Eden has four career goals.
