NIACC's Ringo places 8th in 5,000
STORM LAKE - NIACC freshman Stephen Ringo placed eighth in the 5,000-meter run on Friday night at the NJCAA Region XI championships.
Ringo earned his eighth-place finish in a time of 16 minutes, 46.42 seconds. Also for the Trojans in the 5,000, freshman Aidan Bauermeister was ninth in 17:37.69.
NIACC placed fourth in the 4x800-meter relay in a time of 8:22.08. The Trojans ran Jorge Ruiz, Ellis Regan, Janvier Irakoze and Mason Deeter.
In the shot put, NIACC's Kameron Glasper placed 11th with a personal-best toss of 11.76 meters (38 feet, 7 inches).
NIACC's Logan Benjegerdes qualified for Saturday's finals in the 60-meter hurdles in a personal-best time of 8.95, which was the fourth fastest qualifying time.
