Long-range shooting lifts Trojans, 92-67

LINCOLN, Neb. - The NIACC women's basketball team wrapped up its non-conference season with a 92-67 victory over Southeast CC Sunday at the Southeast CC Thanksgiving Classic.
NIACC (7-2 overall) was 15 of 30 from 3-point range in Sunday's contest. The Trojans' Alexis Schroeder and Keeley Steele both made five 3-point goals.
The Trojans' Lilly Radcliffe made three 3-pointers and Kameron Jones and Sonya Potthoff both made one 3-pointer.
The 15 3-point goals by the Trojans is the most in the Brad Vaught era and the most in a game for the Trojans since they made 19 3-pointers against Kirkwood in the regional title game on March 8, 2020.
The previous high-water mark for 3-point goals in a game by a Vaught coached team was 11 against DMACC on Feb. 10, 2022.
Schroeder, a 5-foot-4 freshman guard from Caledonia, Minn., led the Trojans with a career-high 19 points. Steele was next in line with 15 points, Madison Hillman scored 13 points and Radcliffe was also in double figures with 11 points.
NIACC's Tori Miller scored eight points with six rebounds and eight assists. Hillman grabbed five rebounds and Zhane Singer scored five points with five rebounds.
NIACC led 48-41 at the half and outscored Southeast CC 30-11 in the third quarter.
NIACC opens ICCAC play Saturday at home against DMACC. Game time in the NIACC gym is set for 1 p.m.
