NIACC women fall to Anoka-Ramsey CC, 64-57
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team dropped a 64-57 decision to Anoka-Ramsey CC in a non-conference contest Tuesday in the NIACC gym.
No. 5 (NJCAA Division III) Anoka-Ramsey CC led 31-30 at the half and outscored the Trojans 19-11 in the third quarter. NIACC outscored Anoka-Ramsey CC 17-15 in the final 10 minutes to trim the final deficit to seven points.
Anoka-Ramsey CC (4-0 overall) was led by Alex McNeill with 16 points. Bella Kanz was next in line for the Golden Rams with 14 points.
NIACC (4-2 overall) was led by Keeley Steele with 19 points. Steele also had nine rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Alexis Schroeder was also in double figures for the Trojans with 11 points.
NIACC's Madison Hillman, who scored six points led the Trojans with 14 rebounds. The Trojans' Tori Miller scored eight points and collected seven rebounds.
NIACC returns to action Monday at home against the Graceland University Junior Varsity. Game time in the NIACC gym is slated for 5:30 p.m.
