NIACC men place 4th at Redtail Shootout
DIKE - The NIACC men's golf team placed fourth at the Hawkeye CC Redtail Shootout Friday at the Fox Ridge Golf Course with a 315.
DMACC was the men's team champion with a 294, Iowa Central was second with a 305 and host Hawkeye CC was third with a 306.
The Trojans were led by sophomore Tim Castle with a 36-35 - 71.
"It was an outstanding effort (Friday) by Tim Castle," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "One-under par in these (cold and windy) conditions was really good.
"Tim's had a very nice fall season and I can't wait to see what the spring will bring for him. He's worked very hard on his game during the summer and it shows."
Also for the Trojans Friday, Anders Palmquist shot 39-41 - 80, Elic Fjetland shot 41-41 - 82, Mitchell Staudt shot 42-40 - 82, Jackson Koebernick shot 43-43 - 86 and Bennett Suntken shot 41-48 - 89.
NIACC wraps up its fall season with the Quad Cup on Thursday at the Legacy Golf Course in Mason City. Other schools in the Quad Cup are DMACC, Iowa Central and Iowa Lakes.
