NIACC women fall to Lakers, 24-14
ESTHERVILLE - The NIACC women's wrestling team dropped a 24-14 decision to Iowa Lakes Wednesday night in an ICCAC dual meet.
NIACC picked up wins from Keira Suro at 138 pounds, Maria Sanfiel at 145 pounds and Destine'e Thomas at 235 pounds.
Suro (1-3) pinned the Lakers' Riley Weiler in 1 minute, 43 seconds to pick up her first career win.
Sanfiel (2-5) picked up a 8-4 decision over the Lakers' Nina Aceves and Thomas (1-7) pinned Savanna Salen in 1:45.
The pin by Thomas was the fifth pin of her career.
NIACC returns to action Jan. 14 in a dual meet Ellsworth.
