NIACC volleyball team tops Ellsworth, 3-0

MASON CITY - The NIACC volleyball team remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 win over Ellsworth on Wednesday in the NIACC gym.

The Lady Trojans (5-0 overall) topped the Panthers 25-22, 25-18, 25-19 in their ICCAC opener.

Sophomore Meagan Miller led the Lady Trojans with 14 kills. Sophomore Aubury Coleman had 10 kills and sophomore Kaylee Whittington had eight kills.

Whittington now has 465 career kills, which ranks ninth on NIACC's career list since the 1998 season.

Also for the Lady Trojans, sophomore Hailey Winter had 20 assists and sophomore Jackie Bleifus had 16 assists. Sophomore Liv Block led the way with 19 digs.

Block has 494 career digs, which ranks ninth on NIACC's career list since the 1998 season.

NIACC returns to action Thursday in a triangular in Waverly. The Lady Trojans face the Wartburg College Junior Varsity at 4 p.m. and the University of Dubuque Junior Varsity at 6 p.m.
