
Three Trojans earn all-region honors
FORT DODGE - Three NIACC men's cross country runners earned all-region honors Sunday at the NJCAA Region XI Division II race at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.
No. 14 NIACC, which placed third with 139 points, was led by freshman Bryson Canton, who was third in the Division II race in a time of 27:58 on the 8-kilometer course.
Canton earned first-team all-region honors with his third-place finish.
NIACC's Breyden Christensen was a second-team all-region selection with his seventh-place finish in 28:58. The Trojans' Alfred Kiptoo was 11th in 29:01.
Kiptoo was an honorable mention all-region selection.
Also for the Trojans, Jackson Chambers was 14th in 29:29, Jacob Vais was 18th (29:58), Vlad Starrett was 22nd (30:27) and Kason Judisch was 35th (31:46).
No. 18 Hawkeye CC was the regional champion with 62 points and No. 16 Southeastern was second with 130 points.
Hawkeye CC's D'Artagnon Beavers was the individual champion in a time of 27:08 and the RedTails' Brennan Sauser was second in 27:43.
