Alec Hayes begins his seventh season as an assistant coach with the NIACC men's and women's track and field programs starting in the 2025 season coaching the jumpers.

At the 2023 indoor national meet, NIACC's Fabian Steene placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 6 1/4 inches.

At the 2024 outdoor national meet, the Trojans' Terrence Thomas placed third in the long jump with a leap of 24-8 1/4.

Hayes, who competed for the Trojans in 2018-19, ranks fifth on NIACC's indoor high jump all-time best list with a leap of 6 feet, 2 3/4 inches at the NJCAA Region 11 Championships in 2018

He also ranks fifth on the Trojans' outdoor high jump list with a leap of 6-4 3/4 at the NJCAA Region 11 Championships in 2019.
