NIACC men place 6th at regional tournament

AMES - The NIACC men's golf team placed sixth at the NJCAA Region XI tournament Sunday at the Veenker Memorial Golf Course on the Iowa State campus.

The Trojans shot a 322 on Sunday after an opening-round 333 on Saturday for their two-day total of 655.

Kirkwood was the regional champion with a 601. Iowa Central (620) and DMACC (625) also earned berths to the national tournament.

Freshman Anthony Emanuel led the Trojans with a 84-77 - 161. Also for the Trojans, Joe Nordquist shot a 83-79 - 162, Josh Schaefer shot a 82-82 - 164, Zach Nicholson shot a 84-86 - 170 and Devin Koob shot a 86-84 - 170.
