NIACC ranked 5th in latest women's poll
MASON CITY - The NIACC women's basketball team stayed at fifth in the latest NJCAA Division II poll released Tuesday.
NIACC (19-1 overall, 6-0 in the ICCAC) topped Iowa Lakes (84-69), Ellsworth (99-32) and Southeastern (97-65) last week. The Lady Trojans have won seven straight games since dropping their lone contest of the season to Bryant & Stratton (Wis.) on Dec. 28 at the Illinois Central Cougar Holiday Tournament.
It is the 35th straight poll that the NIACC women have been ranked in dating back to the start of the 2017-18 season.
Kirkwood (17-1) remained No. 1 in this week's poll. Kansas City (Kan.) CC (18-1) is ranked second and Lincoln Land (17-1) is ranked third.
NIACC and Kirkwood meet in their ICCAC contests on Jan. 29 (at Cedar Rapids) and Feb. 22 (at Mason City).
NIACCm which has won 26 straight home games, returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Central in an ICCAC contest. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
