SPENCER - NIACC's Kai Nelles tied for 24th in the individual medalist competition with a 3-round total of 225 at the NW Iowa Collegiate Showcase on Tuesday at the Spencer Country Club.
Nelles shot rounds of 73-76-76 - 225. Iowa Western's Thomas Craig was the individual medalist with a 69-69-66 - 204.
NIACC placed 10th with a 321-322-306 - 949. Iowa Western was the team champion with a 288-280-276 - 844.
"We finished the fall with our best 18-hole score of the season, which is very encouraging," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "Kai Nelles had a nice tournament and has been playing very well at the end of this fall season.
"The last two tournaments he's proven to himself that he has the game to finish rounds. He should have a lot of confidence heading into the off-season."
Also for NIACC, Jacob Wiersma shot 79-84-73 - 236 (45th), Bryce Malchow shot 83-83-78 - 244 (tied 59th), Bradley Vaith shot 88-80-79 - 247 (62nd) and Andrew Crane shot 86-83-86 - 255 (65th).
"I was very pleased with how all the guys bounced back (Tuesday)," Frenz said. "One over par for Jacob is solid. He's settling into the college game.
"Bradley Vaith and Bryce Malchow had good showings. The fall season is a grind but we're really looking forward to this spring."
