NIACC falls to Southwestern, 8-3
CRESTON - The NIACC baseball team dropped an 8-3 decision to Southwestern on Tuesday.
Southwestern scored four runs in the first inning, plated a single run in the second inning and pushed across three runs in the fifth inning. Five of the eight Spartan runs were unearned.
NIACC scored single runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
NIACC's Brock Goelz homered (the second of his career) and the Trojans also received doubles from Bennett McCollow and John Doty.
NIACC (13-23 overall, 9-10 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday in a single nine-inning game against Indian Hills in Centerville. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
