NIACC baseball update
The NIACC baseball team is 7-8 through its first 15 games in the 2020 season.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the NJCAA made the decision to suspend all spring competition from March 14 through April 3.
NIACC is scheduled to host DMACC in a four-game ICCAC series April 4-5 at Roosevelt Field in Mason City.
Through the first 15 games under first-year coach Drew Sannes, NIACC has scored at least 10 runs in five games, including a season-high of 16 in a 16-3 win over Hibbing CC on Feb. 25 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Sophomore Will Sturek leads the NIACC offense as he's hitting .373 with five home runs and 13 RBIs. Ayrton Laird is hitting .368 with three doubles and nine RBIs.
