Bio
Heading into the 2024 season, Chris Brandt begins her 15th season as head coach of the NIACC volleyball team with a career record of 208-279.
NIACC was 14-24 overall in the 2023 season. The Trojans were 3-8 in ICCAC competition and had two players earn all-ICCAC honors (Kennedy Schwiesow, second team, and Jaida Hansen, third team).
In 2019, NIACC was 31-10 and advanced to the NJCAA XI-B title match for the second straight season. The Lady Trojans dropped a 3-2 decision to Northeast CC in the title match.
NIACC was 23-15 in 2018 and advanced to the NJCAA Region XI-B championship before falling to Northeast CC.
Brandt, who was an assistant coach at NIACC in the 2008-09 seasons, took over as head coach in the 2010 season.
Brandt has coached 33 all-region performers and has had players earn all-American honors three times. Kennedy Meister was a first-team NJCAA Divsion II all-American in 2019 and Tobin was an honorable mention all-American in 2021 (spring) and 2021 (fall).
Brandt was an assistant varsity volleyball coach and head sophomore coach at Mason City High School from 2002-2006.
Prior to coaching at Mason City High School, Brandt was a volunteer assistant for Lake Mills High School.
In the mid to late 90's, Brandt spent time as an assistant at both Clarksville High School and Holmes Junior High in Cedar Falls and did her coaching practicum at Dike-New Hartford.
Brandt is a Developmental Math Instructor at NIACC. She received her undergraduate from the University of Northern Iowa in 1997 and completed her Masters in Education at Morningside College in May 2009.
Chris and her husband, Jeff, live in Mason City with their son, John, and daughter, Allison.
