In 2014, Levi Fink claimed the NJCAA Division II national championship, the first individual national title in school history.
In 2013, the NIACC women's golf team placed 10th at the NJCAA national championships in Mesa, Ariz. Playing for the Trojans that season were Alexandria Eckenrod, Sarah Steinauer, Mikayla Smith and Moriah Sherman.
Under Frenz in 2018, the NIACC men's golf team qualified for the NJCAA Division II national tournament with a third-place finish at the NJCAA Region XI meet in Panora. At the national tournament in Foley, Ala., the Trojans tied for 17th place after three rounds with a three-day total of 323-334-313 - 970. The final round of the tournament was called off with the threat of inclement weather.
"Our goal every year, is to win the regional championship," Frenz says, "which then gives us the opportunity to compete on the national level. We've been very successful here at NIACC and that's do to a lot of factors, including the hard work these individuals put in themselves and a great commitment from our administration."
Frenz graduated from Brown College in Minneapolis and specialized in broadcasting. Along with his golf duties, Frenz is the Enrollment Specialist for Adults in the NIACC Admissions Office. Chris and wife, Jackie, reside in Mason City. They have four children Kelsey, Isaac, Nick and Jessalyn.
