Bio

Jonathan Hicklin begins his first season as an assistant coach for the NIACC men’s basketball team in the 2024-25 season.

Hicklin, who is from Charlotte, N.C., started his playing career at NCAA D1 James Madison University and later transferred to NCAA D2 Winston-Salem University.

During Hicklin’s career at Winston-Salem, he helped the Rams win the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular season championship twice in 2019-20 and 2021-22. The Rams also won the conference tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons. Hicklin averaged eight points and five rebounds per game for his career while making 64 starts.

Hicklin was a standout player at Northside Christian Academy in High School where he averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.8 steals per contest his senior year. His performance earned him one of 24 spots in the North Carolina Boys Private School All-star game.

After his playing career, Hicklin was an assistant coach at NJCAA D1 Howard College in Texas.

Hicklin holds a bachelors of arts degree in mass communication from Winston-Salem University.
