No. 17 NIACC tops No. 8 Iowa Lakes, 105-91
ESTHERVILLE - The No. 17 NIACC men's basketball team upset No. 8 Iowa Lakes 105-91 in an ICCAC contest Wednesday.
NIACC (18-5 overall, 5-4 in ICCAC) received 24 points from sophomore Quentin Hardrict. Also for the Trojans, James Harris scored 19 points, Trey Sampson scored 15 point with 13 rebounds, Deundra Roberson and McKelary Robertson both scored 14 points and Marshaun Carroll scored nine points.
It was Sampson's fourth double/double of the season and sixth of his career. Roberson dished out a career-best nine assists.
It was the 14th time this season that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points in a game and the first time since Jan. 4 when they topped Little Priest Tribal College 111-72.
In the last five games in the NIACC/Iowa Lakes series, the winner has scored at least 100 points four times. NIACC won the two games in the 2018-19 regular season 119-110 and 107-94.
NIACC returns to action Saturday at home against Ellsworth (12-11, 3-5). Game time is set for 3 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
