NIACC's Swenson places 13th in high jump at nationals
TOPEKA, Kan. - NIACC sophomore Jordan Swenson placed 13th in the high jump at the NJCAA Division I national championships Saturday on the Wasbhurn University campus.
Swenson recorded personal best leap of 5 feet, 1 1/4 inch, which ranks fourth on the school's indoor high jump list. Swenson's previous best leap was 5-1 at Minnesota State's Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 5, 2022.
Also for the NIACC women on Saturday, sophomore Madelyn Wilson was 20th in the weight throw with a toss of 30-10 1/4.
For the NIACC men on Saturday, freshman Bryson Canton was 31st in the mile in a personal-best time of 4;26.52, which ranks 6th best on the NIACC men's all-time list. Canton's previous best mile time was 4:28.52 at the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 3.
The Trojans were 23rd in the 4x400-meter relay team running Dylan Novak, Hugo Massa, Bruce Huggins and Canton.
