NIACC's Atladottir wins long jump at Cornell Invitational

MOUNT VERNON — Steinunn Atladottir won the long jump with a leap of 4.99 meters (16 feet, 4 ½ inches) as the NIACC women's track and field team finished ninth with 28 points at the Cornell Invite on Saturday.
Taylor Glawe and Sola Stephenson tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.5 meters (4 feet, 11 inches). Stephenson was also fifth in the javelin with a throw of 34.72 meters (113 feet, 11 inches) and fifth in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1 minute, 13.35 seconds.
Sarah Snavely was seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 38.64 meters (126 feet, 9 inches).
Jordan Lane qualified for the NJCAA national meet in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by placing 12th in 13:29.85.
Meanwhile, the NIACC men finished seventh with 29.5 points as Jacob Waddle was third in the javelin with a throw of 43.7 meters (143 feet, 4 inches).
Ruben Dorsey was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.19 meters (40 feet) and eighth in the long jump with a leap of 5.76 meters (18 feet, 10 ¾ inches).
Alex Vanderploeg was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.8 meters (5 feet, 10 ¾ inches) and Mark Maddox was fifth in the 800 in a time of 2:02.18.
NIACC's 4x100 relay team of Blake Blickenderfer, Rayvon Gray, Maddox and Finn Nighingale finished fifth in a time of 44.04 seconds.
Gray was sixth in the 100 in a time of 11.64 seconds and eighth in the 200 in a time of 23.74 seconds and Dennis Elms Jansson was eighth in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:01.36.
