NIACC falls to Iowa Western, 24-20
MASON CITY - The No. 24 NIACC men's wrestling team dropped a 24-20 decision to No. 3 Iowa Western in an ICCAC dual meet Wednesday night in the NIACC recreation center.
NIACC won four of the 10 matches against Iowa Western. The Trojans picked up wins from Isaac Church (141), Tanner Chase Warden (149), Drew Fox (197) and Jacob Leohr (285).
At 141 pounds, Church (13-5) took a 5-2 decision from Julio Reyes.
At 149 pounds, Warden (9-2) took a 16-0 techical fall from Blake Thomsen.
At 197 pounds, Fox (5-2) pinned the Reivers' Kase Thompson in two minutes, 37 seconds.
At 285 pounds, Leohr (4-6) picked up a 6:33 fall over the the Reivers' Payton Christiancy.
NIACC returns to action Feb. 1 at home in a league dual meet against Indian Hills. Match time in the NIACC recreation center is slated for 7 p.m.
