Trojans conclude season at district tournament
DODGE CITY, Kan. - The NIACC women's golf team placed ninth at the NJCAA Plains District Championship Tuesday at the Mariah Hills Golf Course with a 418-391 - 809.
NIACC was led by sophomore Emma Weiner, who shot a 95-90 - 188. The 90 on Tuesday for Weiner was her season best round.
NIACC freshman Paige Danger shot 97-91 - 188. The 91 on Tuesday by Danger was her career-best round.
freshman Cameran Moellers shot 102-98 - 200 and sophomore Karissa Hoon shot 124-112 - 236.
"I'm very proud of this group," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "They really gave me all they had over the past year and I couldn't appreciate them any more than I do.
"All of them played better (Tuesday) and that was great to see them end the season on a good note."
The district tournament was the final one for sophomores Weiner and Hoon and Moellers, a freshman.
"I'll really miss the sophomores," Frenz said. "Emma and Karissa are two outstanding people.
"And while I only got to have Cameran Moellers for one year, I really thank her for giving me at least that one year."
Danger will be the lone Trojan returning for the 2024-25 season.
"I look forward to having Paige Danger back next year to join a solid group of new recruits," Frenz said.
