NIACC's Tusler wraps up play at national tournament
MESA, Ariz. - NIACC's Courtney Tusler wrapped up play at her second NJCAA Division I national golf tournament with a 55-51 - 106 Thursday at the Longbow Golf Course.
Tusler placed 100th with a 99-105-96-106 - 406.
"This just wasn't a great week scoring for Courtney," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said, "and I know she's extremely frustrated at not representing herself better.
"But she is an outstanding representative of NIACC and she really gave it all she had."
Last season at the national tournament in Georgia, Tusler placed 90th with a 92-93-94-96 - 375.
"She's going to be very successful in life," Frenz said, "and I've been very fortunate to be her coach the past two years
"It's a great accomplishment to get to the national tournament twice."
Daytona State College was the team champion with rounds of 289-289-287-287 - 1,152. Iowa Western placed 12th (346-349-339-349 - 1,383) and DMACC was 16th (365-361-375-356 - 1,457).
Iowa Western's Cassidy Evrendias was the top finisher from Iowa schools placing 11th (75-79-79-76 - 309).
