Almelien leads NIACC men at Augustana Twilight
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Freshman Owen Almelien placed 127th in a time of 21 minutes, 41 seconds in a four-mile race Friday at the Augustana University Twilight.
NIACC placed 22nd out of 32 teams in its season-opening meet with 617 points. South Dakota State was the team champion with 62 points.
NIACC sophomore Bryson Canton was 141st in a time of 21:48.
Other counting scores for the Trojans on Friday night, freshman Joey Ringo was 166th in a time of 22:04, sophomore Breyden Christensen was 195th (22:24) and freshman Ryan Kelly was 237th (22:59).
Also for the Trojans on opening night, freshman Eli Bergman was 266th (23:26), sophomore Jacob Vais was 271st (23:36), freshman Chris Marroquin ran 23:58 (289th) and Vlad Starrett ran 24:19 (300th).
NIACC returns to action Sept. 15 at home with the Trent Smith Invitational, which starts at 5 p.m.
