NIACC's Swenson places third in high jump
COUNCIL BLUFFS - NIACC's Jordan Swenson placed third in the high jump at the NJCAA Region 11 outdoor track and field championships Saturday.
The sophomore earned her third-place finish with a career best jump of 5 feet, 2 1/2 inches. Swenson's previous personal best leap in the high jump was 5-1, twice.
The 5-2 1/2 high jump by Swenson is tied for fifth on the school's career outdoor high jump list.
Swenson also placed ninth in the long jump with a jump of 14-8 3/4. The Trojans' Katyrra Peck was eighth in the long jump (15-1 1/4).
The Trojans had three top 10 finishes in the hammer. Jada Westover was sixth with a personal best toss of 123-11, Madelyn Wilson was ninth with a personal best toss of 117-5 and Pascalne Koffi was 10th (116-0).
Westover's throw of 123-11 ranks sixth on the school's career javelin list and Wilson's toss of 117-5 is tied for 10th on the school's career list.
