Hoon leads Trojans at IC Invite
FORT DODGE - Sophomore Karissa Hoon shot a 99 to lead the NIACC women's golf team Saturday on the second day at the Iowa Central Spring Invitational at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
Hoon shot a two-day total of 98-99 - 197 as the Trojans placed eighth with a two-day total of 388-408 - 796.
Paige Danger led the Trojans in the two-day invitational with a 94-101 - 195.
Also for the Trojans, Emma Weiner shot 99-100 - 199 and Cameran Moellers shot a 97-108 - 205.
"We just couldn't get anything going (Saturday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "The pretty high winds and tough, fast greens kind of ate us up (Saturday).
"We're two weeks away from the regional tournament," Frenz said, "so hopefully we'll get good weather for practice this week to work on some things."
The Trojans return to action April 22 at the Hawkeye CC Redtail Invitational in Dike.
