Moellers leads NIACC women
GALENA, Ill. - Freshman Cameran Moellers shot a 95 to lead the NIACC women's golf team Monday at the Clarke University Spring Invitational at The Galena Golf Club.
NIACC placed seventh with a total of 418. The second day of the scheduled 2-day tournament was called off due to the forecast of inclement weather.
"Weather conditions got the best of the women (Monday)," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "Although, I was impressed with how they put forth their best efforts even during very difficult conditions.
"Cameran Moellers played pretty well overall and it was good to see her have some success in this weather."
Also for the Trojans, Emma Weiner shot 105, Karissa Hoon shot 106 and Paige Danger shot 112.
"Our season is so short that we might have to play in weather like this at the regional tournament," Frenz said, "so hopefully this will somehow end up to our advantage."
Team standings - Dubuque 335, Waldorf 348, Dubuque B 362, Carthage 382, Loras 385, Hawkeye CC 391, NIACC 418, Clarke 440.
