Moellers leads NIACC women at Waldorf Fall Invite
LAKE MILLS - Freshman Cameran Moellers shot a 92 to lead the NIACC women's golf team Friday at the Waldorf University Fall Invitational at the Rice Lake Golf Course.
NIACC's Emma Weiner shot a 96, Paige Danger shot 102 and Karissa Hoon shot 111. The Trojans placed eighth in the team standings with a team total of 401.
"Cameran Moellers is so close to breaking through," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "For the second tournament in a row, she had a solid start with a 43, but stumbled on the back nine because of some penalty strokes. The course didn't play easy (Friday) for the women. The course had good length on some holes, the pins were in some difficult positions and the wind was fairly gusty."
NIACC returns to action Friday, Oct. 6 at the Hawkeye CC Redtail Invitational in Waterloo.
"We've played better the past couple weeks," Frenz said, "but we still have a lot of room to improve.
"We'll have a good week of practice and we'll see what we can do next Friday in our final tournament of the fall season."
