Three Trojans shoot 87 at Iowa Central Invite
FORT DODGE - Three NIACC women's golfer shot 87 on Saturday on the final day at the Iowa Central Spring Invitational.
Sophomores Sophie Lunning, Alyssa Alert and Kirsten Boerjan all shot 87 Saturday as the Trojans shot 359 as a team at the Fort Dodge Country Club.
The 87 by Lunning was a career-best round. Her previous career best round was 89, twice.
Also for the Trojans Saturday, freshman Karissa Hoon shot 98 and Emma Weiner shot 99.
For the 36 holes, Lunning shot 90-87 - 177, Alert shot 93-87 - 180, Boerjan shot 97-87 - 184, Hoon shot 100-98 - 198 and Weiner shot 103-99 - 202.
NIACC placed fifth in the team standings with a 380-359 - 739. Host Iowa Central was the team champion with a 341-346 - 687 and DMACC was second with a 346-343 - 689.
NIACC returns to action April 14-15 at the Battle of Waterloo.
