NIACC women cruise to 100-54 victory
LINCOLN, Neb. - The NIACC women's basketball team rolled to a 100-54 victory over Central CC-Columbus Saturday afternoon at the Southeast CC Thanksgiving Classic.
NIACC (6-2 overall) trailed 19-17 after the first quarter. The Trojans outscored Central CC-Columbus 25-11 in the second quarter to take a 42-30 halftime lead.
The Trojans pushed their lead to 76-40 after three quarters by outscoring Central CC-Columbus 34-10.
It is the second time this season that the Trojans have scored at least 100 points in a game The Trojans topped Minnesota North-Itasca 106-36 earlier this season.
Freshman Keeley Steele led the Trojans with 16 points.
Kameron Jones and Tori Miller both scored 13 points and Sonya Potthoff was also in double figures with 12 points.
Nikie Nelson led Central CC-Columbus with a game-high 19 points.
NIACC returns to action at 3 p.m. Sunday against host Southeast CC. At last season's Thanksiving Classic in Estherville, Southeast CC topped NIACC, 55-50.
