Parks career-high lifts NIACC, 91-49
MASON CITY - Freshman Nariyah Parks scored a career-high 19 points to lead the NIACC women's basketball team to a 91-49 non-conference victory over the William Penn Junior Varsity on Thursday night in the NIACC gym.
Parks, who is from Yukon, Okla., was 7 of 11 from the field, including five 3-point goals. Parks also contributed three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Parks' previous career high was 16 points against Minnesota North-Itasca on Nov. 5.
NIACC's Kameron Jones scored 17 points with seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Kourtney Manning scored eight points with 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
The Trojans' Audrey Martinez-Stewart scored nine points with five rebounds, four assists and three steals. I'sis Brown scored 10 points with five rebounds.
Also for the Trojans, Grave Davis-Chavez scored eight points with seven rebounds and Niamh O'Leary scored eight points with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.
NIACC (13-8 overall, 5-4 in the ICCAC) returns to action Saturday in an ICCAC contest at No. 4 Kirkwood (19-2, 9-1). Game time in Cedar Rapids is slated for 1 p.m.
