BOONE - The NIACC softball team dropped an ICCAC doubleheader to No. 11 DMACC Monday on the DMACC campus.
DMACC (25-7 overall, 8-2 in the ICCAC) won the first game 9-0 in five innings and took the second game 9-1 in five innings.
In the first game, DMACC's Courtney Donahue (13-2) tossed a five-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks
DMACC scored single runs in each of the first two innings, pushed across two runs in the third frame and added ended the game with five runs in the fifth inning.
In the second game, DMACC's Konsley Robertson (8-3) struck out nine and walked two and held the Trojans to a single run in the first inning.
NIACC collected five hits in the second contest, including two from sophomore Madi Elwood. Katy Olive had a double and Madisyn Bauer and Ariana Lopez each had singles.
NIACC (18-14, 7-3) returns to action Wednesday in a league twinbill at Iowa Lakes.
Note: NIACC, which had won seven straight games heading into the DMACC twinbill, received votes in this week's NJCAA Division II poll.
