NIACC recruit Bauer to play in Border Battle all-star games
MINNEAPOLIS - Incoming NIACC softball recruit Maddy Bauer will play in the annual Minnesota/Wisconsin Border Battle all-star games on Wednesday.
Game times are set for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus. Admission is free.
Bauer, who is from Chippewa Falls, Wis., is a member of the 12-player Wisconsin roster. Bauer will play third base/catcher next season for the Trojans.
Bauer is the only player on either team that will play at a two-year college next season.
Bauer's Team Wisconsin teammates will play next season at Oregon State (Ashley Wolfe - Green Bay Preble), University of South Dakota (McKenna Young - Brodhead), Northwestern (Riley Grudzielanek - Oak Creek and Emma Raye - Superior), Wisconsin (Paige Miller - Kaukauna and Hilary Blomberg - Verona), North Central (Rachael Madsen - Kenosha Bradford), UW-Green Bay (Martha Miller - Medford and Madyson Baker - Chippewa Falls), Florida International (Kally Meredith - Kaukauna) and South Dakota State (Addison Blomberg - Verona).
Team Minnesota consists of players going to Minnesota State-Mankato (Chloe Brandt - LeSueur-Henderson and Kurstyn Patnode - Becker), Minnesota (Jessa Snippes - Rosemount and Brooklyn Jones - Anoka), Iowa State (Paige Zender - Rosemount), Gustavus Adolphus College (Peyton Stevemer - Mankato East, Breck Carlson - Mankato West and Macy McNally - Winona), University of Minnesota-Duluth (Khendal Johnson - St. Michael-Albertville), University of Tampa (Kenzie Jones - Rogers), Milwaukee School of Engineering (Carlee Emery - Mankato West), North Dakota State (Madi Wihlm - Maple Grove) and Luther College (Eden Prairie).
Last season, NIACC's Katy Olive played in the Border Battle all-star games for Team Minnesota.
