MASON CITY - The No. 17 NIACC softball team swept an ICCAC doubleheader against Ellsworth on Tuesday on the NIACC campus.
NIACC won the first game 12-2 in five innings and took the second game 15-3 also in five innings.
NIACC, which has won 13 straight games, improved its record to 30-8 overall and 14-2 in the ICCAC. It is the first time the Trojans have won 30 games in a season since the 2019 season when they were 30-18.
In the first game, Brynn Stalberger (10-4) held the Panthers to two runs on two hits. She struck out four and walked walked three in her five innings of work.
NIACC's Emily Jones was 4 for 4 with three RBIs. Sydney Toman was 2 for 2, including a home run, with three RBIs.
Also for the Trojans in the opener, Laken Lienhard was 2 for 4, including two doubles, with an RBI, Brianna McPoland was 2 for 4, including a double, with an RBIs and Ravyn Krachey was 2 for 3 with an RBI.
In the second game, Emily Jones (6-2) picked up her first win since March 24 allowing three runs on five hits in three innings of work. Stalberger pitched two innings of scoreless relief allowing two hits with two strikeouts.
NIACC hit five home runs in the second game, including two from leadoff hitter Katy Olive. It was Olive's first career two home run game and her 11th and 12th of the season.
Jones, Toman and Shaye Theobald also homered for the Trojans in the second game. It was the third time this season that the Trojans hit five home runs in a game.
Olive was 3 for 3 with three RBIs, Lienhard was 3 for 4, including two doubles with three RBIs, Toman collected four RBIs, Theobald, who also doubled, drove in two runs and Jones also had two RBIs.
NIACC returns to action Saturday and Sunday in a four-game series against Iowa Lakes in Estherville.
