Canton leads NIACC men at Augustana Twilight
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - NIACC freshman Bryson Canton placed 82nd Friday night at the Augustana University Twilight meet.
Canton, who prepped at Cedar Rapids Prairie, covered the four-mile course in a time of 20 minutes, 51 seconds in his first collegiate meet.
Also for the Trojans, freshman Breyden Christensen, who is from Mason City, was 171st in 21:59, freshman Jacob Vais, of Charles City, was 244th (23:08), freshman Jackson Chambers, who is from Humboldt, was 264th (23:35) and freshman Vlad Starrett, who is from Clear Lake, was 279th (23:59).
NIACC placed 26th with 762 team points. South Dakota State was the team champion with 24 points.
South Dakota State's Ben Olson was the individual champion in a time of 19:08.
NIACC returns to action on Sept. 23 at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.
