NIACC falls to MSU-West Plains
WEST PLAINS, Mo. - The NIACC men's basketball team dropped a 63-60 decision to Missouri State University-West Plains Friday night.
MSU-West Plains led 39-29 at the half. NIACC outscored the Grizzlies 31-24 in the second 20 minutes to trim the final deficit to three points.
The Grizzlies (4-3 overall) was led by Carlos Paul III with 14 points.
NIACC (3-3 overall) was led by freshman guards Marquel Newsome and Omarion Roberts with 15 and 13 points, respectively. Freshmen Jordan Brown and Brayden Drea both scored 11 points off the bench.
Newsome and Drea both had three 3-point goals Friday night. Newsome leads the Trojans with 13 3-point goals and Drea is next in line with 11 3-pointers.
Brown also added six rebounds and four assists. Keon Alexander led the Trojans on the boards with eight and also had four blocked shots.
NIACC returns to action at 5 p.m. Saturday against Link Year Prep Gold.
