CENTERVILLE - The NIACC baseball team edged Indian Hills 7-6 on Wednesday in an ICCAC contest.
NIACC (14-23 overall, 10-10 in the ICCAC) jumped out to a 5-0 lead by scoring three runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning. Sam Kwapnioski hit a two-run home run in the second inning.
The Trojans also plated single runs in the sixth and seventh innngs of the nine-inning contest.
Jaiden Mollett (1-2) gained the win for the Trojans on the mound. Mollett allowed four runs on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 4 2/3 innings of work.
Cooper Mollet pitched a scoreless ninth to collect his first save of the season. Mollet struck out one and did not allow a hit as he closed out the one-run victory.
NIACC's Adam Berghult was 4 for 5 with two RBIs. Kwapnioski was 2 for 4.
