NIACC drops series finale to No. 8 Southeastern

WEST BURLINGTON - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision to No. 8 Southeastern Saturday in the final game of a three-game series.
Southeastern (30-10 overall, 14-4 in the ICCAC) collected 12 hits to score its seven runs. The Blackhawks scored a single run in the third inning and pushed across three runs each in the fifth and eighth innings.
NIACC (13-22, 9-9) scored single runs in the fourth and eighth innings and plated two runs in the sixth inning.
NIACC pounded out 11 hits, including three from Eli Anderson and two from Bennett McCollow. Kade Peloquin drove in two of the four NIACC runs.
Anderson is hitting .444, which leads the ICCAC Division II and is tied for 18th in NJCAA Division II.
NIACC returns to action Tuesday at Southwestern in a single nine-inning contest in Creston. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
