NEOSHO, Mo. - NIACC and Crowder College split a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday and split the four-game series.
NIACC won the first game 10-3 and dropped the second game 9-2. The two teams also split a pair of contests on Saturday.
In the first game, NIACC received home runs from Lincolnd Berry and Tyler Froland. Designated hitter Alex Berreth was 4 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
NIACC broke the game open with four runs in the second inning. The Trojans pounded out 11 hits to score their 10 runs.
Austin Klug (1-1) gained the win for the Trojans. He allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work. Carson Knebel pitched the final three innings allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts and one walk.
In the second game, Crowder College used two big innings to gain the split in the twinbill. Crowder scored four runs in the second inning and pushed across five runs in the fifth inning.
NIACC was held to four hits in the second game.
NIACC (4-10) returns to action Friday and Saturday in a three-game series at Barton CC in Great Bend, Kan.
