OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Johnson County CC on Saturday.
Johnson County (10-2 overall) won the first game 5-4 and took the second game 16-4.
In the first game, Johnson County CC scored three runs in the first inning and plated solo runs in the fifth and seventh innings to claim the non-conference win.
NIACC scored one run in the second inning and plated three runs in the fifth inning.
In the fifth inning, Lincoln Berry drove in two runs with a single to tie the game at 3-3 and Colin Evers gave the Trojans a 4-3 lead with a single.
In the second game, Johnson County scored in all six of its at-bats.
The Cavaliers scored single runs in the first and second innings, five runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth inning, two runs in the fifth frame and three runs in the sixth inning.
NIACC's Lincoln Berry hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
NIACC (2-6 overall) and Johnson County CC, which has won eight straight games, will wrap up its four-game series Sunday. The first game is slated to start at noon.
