NIACC falls to Allen County CC, 6-5

IOLA, Kan. - The NIACC baseball team dropped a 6-5 12-inning decision to Allen County CC on Monday afternoon.
It was the longest game for NIACC since the Trojans topped DMACC 4-3 in 14 innings on March 26, 2017.
NIACC outhit Allen County CC 15-5 in the final game of the three-game series. Allen County CC took advantage of five NIACC walks and three hit by pitches.
Allen County CC won the three game series, 2-1. On Sunday, NIACC won the opener 6-1 and dropped the second game 6-5.
On Monday, NIACC's Colin Evers hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. The Trojans received two hits from Alex Berreth, Bennett McCollow, Adam Berghult, Sam Kwapnioski and Eli Anderson.
NIACC relief pitcher Zach Dohrmann allowed one run on one hit with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of work. Also, the Trojans' Carson Knebel allowed one run on no hits with six strikeouts and one walk in four innings of work.
NIACC (2-4) returns to action Saturday and Sunday in a four-game series at Johnson County.
