Mike Unwin left an indelible mark on the NIACC men’s soccer program, earning distinction as a two-time all-American.
His stellar performances earned him recognition as a second-team NJCAA Division I all-American in 2007, followed by a first-team all-American selection in 2008.
Unwin’s remarkable scoring prowess is legendary, as he holds the prestigious title of the school’s all-time leader in goals scored, tallying an impressive total of 58 goals.
In 2007, he netted 27 goals, followed by an even more impressive 31 goals in 2008.
Additionally, Unwin ranks fourth on the school’s career assist list, showcasing his versatility and ability to create scoring opportunities for his teammates.
During Unwin’s tenure, NIACC enjoyed considerable success, boasting a commendable record of 28 wins, 9 losses, and 2 ties over his two seasons.
The Trojans’ journey culminated in a memorable appearance in the NJCAA Region 11 title match in 2008, although they narrowly missed out on victory, falling to Iowa Western in a hardfought 1-0 decision.
