MarTay Jenkins (Football 1993-94)
MarTay Jenkins made a significant impact during his time with the Trojans, notably leading them to a memorable 43-20 victory over Harper College in the 1993 RC Cola Bowl.
His pivotal moment came with a remarkable 74-yard touchdown catch from Richard Lowery, solidifying his reputation as a standout player.
Following his successful stint at the junior college level, Jenkins continued to shine on the collegiate stage, playing for the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 1996 to 1998.
His talents did not go unnoticed, as he was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Jenkins’ professional career reached new heights in 2000 when he joined the Arizona Cardinals, where he made NFL history by breaking records for kickoff returns in a season (82) and kickoff return yards in a season (2,186).
His outstanding achievements earned him recognition and accolades, including induction into the UNO Hall of Fame in 2007 and the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 2011.
