NIACC falls to Grand View JV, 3-2
DES MOINES - The NIACC volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to the Grand View Junior Varsity on Monday.
The Vikings won 18-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10.
"Ultimately, we played pretty well," NIACC coach Chris Brandt said. "We just had a few unfortunate errors at poor times.
"Our defense was tougher (Monday) and that gave us several opportunities to keep the ball in play."
Sophomore Hannah Wagner led the Lady Trojans with 21 kills, 21 digs and six blocks. Sophomore Sydney Roush had 25 assists and 11 digs.
Also for NIACC, Kennedy Meister had 11 kills, five ace serves, 17 digs and four blocks, Connor Gauch had 20 digs and three kills, Tessa Sienknecht had six kills and three blocks, Ashley Groe had 19 assists, Jamie Brenner had eight kills and five blocks and Sarah Kimberly had six kills and eight blocks.
NIACC (13-7 overall) returns to action Wednesday at home against Ellsworth in an ICCAC match. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m.
