NIACC's Parish qualifies for nationals in javelin
WAVERLY - NIACC freshman Kasey Parish won the javelin and qualified for the NJCAA Division I national meet at Saturday's Wartburg College outdoor select meet.
Parish, who is from South Victoria, Australia, won the event with a toss of 37.56 meters. The qualifying standard for the national meet is 36.43 meters.
NIACC, which placed sixth with 48 points, also received a second-place finish from freshman Emma Davison in the 1,500 in a time of 4 minutes, 59.27 seconds.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Dashawn Wyatt was fourth in the 100 (13.25) and seventh in the 200 (26.97).
In the 400, Ally Trager was third in 1:04.63 and Ivy Rollene was fourth (1:06.60).
In the 800, Davison was fifth in 2:24.35.
In the discus, Dasiah Tatum was eighth in 33.77 meters.
