NIACC's Davison qualifies for nationals in 1,500
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - NIACC freshman Emma Davison placed seventh in the 1,500 at the Augustana College Viking Olympics in a time of four minutes, 58.58 seconds on Saturday.
The time of 4:58.58 qualified Davison for the NJCAA Division I national meet May 16-18 in Hobbs, N.M. The national qualifying time in the 1,500 is 5:00.00.
Also for the NIACC women on Saturday, Dashawn Wyatt placed ninth in the 200 (26.85) and was 12th in the 400 (1:04.17). Casey Parish was sixth in the javelin with a toss of 33.90 meters. Cecelia Hemsworth was 11th in the 800 in a time of 2:35.54 and Ally Trager was eighth in the 400 hurdles (1:14.67).
The foursome of Hemsworth, Ivy Rollene, Trager and Davison was second in 10:.45.01.
The NIACC women placed 19th with 19 points.
For the NIACC men, sophomore Kyle Younker was sixth in the 100 in a time of 11.19 and 13th in the 200 in 22.88.
The NIACC men placed 25th with five points.
