AMES — Led by a solid round of 81 from Osage grad Courtney Tusler, NIACC earned a second-place finish Friday in the Region XI preview meet at Veenker Memorial golf Course.
NIACC shot 400 as a team which placed it behind DMACC's 339 and ahead of Southwestern's 426 in the three-team field.
"This is an outstanding day for Courtney," NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. "I'm so happy with her performance because she's been fighting things a little early this spring, but on a very difficult golf course she really kept it together and played extremely well.
"I can only believe this is going to make her more confident heading into the final two weeks of the season."
Also for the Lady Trojans, Brooke Maasch shot 105 and Katelyn Loegering and Alyssa Purman each shot 107.
