NIACC's Cornick signs with Augustana University
MASON CITY - NIACC's Kendall Cornick signed a national letter of intent Tuesday to play softball next season at Augustana University, a NCAA Division II school in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Cornick, an outfielder, has not played this season due to a foot injury. She will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at the North Central Conference school.
Cornick, who prepped at Mason City High, was a first-team NJCAA Division II all-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association in 2016 and was the NJCAA Division II Golden Shoe winner by the NFCA.
Also in 2016, she was a second team NJCAA Division II all-American by Fast Pitch News and was a first-team all-NJCAA Region XI selection as a freshman at NIACC.
Cornick hit .561 with 88 hits, including six doubles and three triples, stole 65 bases and scored 55 runs. The 88 hits is tied for first on NIACC's single-season hit list.
