NIACC men place 5th at Trent Smith Invite
MASON CITY - The NIACC men's cross country team placed fifth at the third annual Trent Smith Invitational on Friday on the NIACC campus.
University of Minnesota-Duluth was the team champion with 27 points. Minnesota State was second with 49 points and Concordia University-St. Paul was third with 76 points.
NIACC was led by freshman Jorge Ruiz, who was 13th in a time of 26 minutes, 41 seconds on the 8-kilometer course run in chilly conditions. Concordia's Benjamin Allen was the individual champion in a time of 26:15.
Other counting scores for the Trojans were Janvier Irakoze (31st in 27:31), Jalen Petersen (39th in 27:48), Aidan Bauermeister (47th in 28:00) and Dawson Schmidt (49th in 28:09).
Also for the Trojans, Ellis Regan was 59th in 28:29, Evan Wilson was 61st in 28:34, Sam Pedelty was 65th in 28:46, Matthew Dibbern was 67th in 28:50, Stephen Ringo was 74th in 29:03, Ben Ellis was 78th in 29:10, Mason Deeter was 80th in 29:16, Paul Roehr was 116th in 30:52 and Alexander Levad was 137th in 33:10.
